Terms of Use

Welcome to Nothing ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using Nothing, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before using the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Nothing, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Nothing is a note-taking and task management application that provides:

  • Optional AI features, such as summarising notes, planning tasks and AI chat
  • Task and activity management
  • Cloud backup via Google Drive
  • Two-factor authenticator (2FA) code management
  • Expense and transaction tracking

3. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

Important: Nothing offers auto-renewable subscription plans that provide access to premium features ("Nothing Pro").

3.1 Subscription Options

Nothing Pro is available as:

  • Monthly Subscription - Billed monthly
  • Annual Subscription - Billed annually

Current pricing is displayed in the App before purchase and may vary by region.

3.2 Payment and Billing

  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.

3.3 Managing Your Subscription

  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's account settings (App Store or Google Play).
  • No refunds will be provided for the unused portion of any subscription period.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

3.4 Free Trial

If offered, any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

4. User Accounts

To access certain features, you may need to create an account using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create within the App. By using Nothing, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
  • Reverse engineer or decompile any part of the App
  • Use the App to transmit harmful or malicious content

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Nothing and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

8. Third-Party Services

Nothing integrates with third-party services including:

  • Google Drive — For cloud backup functionality. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Gemini API — For AI-powered features such as note beautification, summarization, grammar correction, image analysis, task planning, and AI chat. When you use these features, your content (note text, task data, images, chat messages, and conversation history) is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. See Gemini API Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

Important: By using AI-powered features in Nothing, you acknowledge and agree that your data will be sent to Google's Gemini API, a third-party AI service, for processing. No user data is stored on our servers.

9.1 Consent

By choosing to use any AI feature within the app, you consent to your data being sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. AI features are entirely optional. If you prefer not to share data with Google's AI service, you can simply choose not to use the AI features, and all other app functionality will remain fully available.

9.2 Data Shared with Google

When you use AI features, the following data may be sent to Google's Gemini API:

  • Note text content you are working on
  • Task titles and descriptions
  • Images you upload for AI analysis
  • Chat messages and conversation history during AI sessions
  • Custom prompts and instructions you enter

We do not store, log, or retain any of this data on our servers. Your data is forwarded directly to Google's Gemini API for processing.

9.3 Bring Your Own API Key

If you choose to use your own Google Gemini API key, your data is sent directly to Google's Gemini API under your personal Google account and API terms. Nothing does not intermediate or store this data.

9.4 Opting Out

You may stop sharing data with the AI service at any time by simply not using AI features. If you have configured a personal API key, you may remove it in the app's developer settings.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

12. Privacy

Your use of Nothing is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information, including details about data shared with third-party AI services.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by other means. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
