User-Generated Content: The notes, tasks, and other content you create while using Nothing.

AI-Related Data: When you use AI-powered features, the following data may be sent to a third-party AI service: note text content, task content, images you upload for AI analysis, chat conversation messages, and conversation history within AI chat sessions. This data is only sent when you actively initiate an AI feature and after you have granted consent.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve Nothing's functionality.
Develop new features based on user needs and usage patterns.
Troubleshoot issues and provide customer support.
Protect the security and integrity of our services.

Data Storage and Security

Your notes and data are primarily stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud sync, your data will be stored securely in our cloud infrastructure with encryption during transit and at rest.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Third-Party Services

Nothing integrates with the following third-party services:

Google Drive: For optional cloud backup and sync functionality. When you enable Google Drive sync, your notes, tasks, and app data are uploaded to your Google Drive account. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Gemini API: For AI-powered features (see "AI Features & Third-Party AI Data Sharing" section below).
Apple iCloud: For optional iCloud backup and sync functionality on iOS devices.

AI Features & Third-Party AI Data Sharing

AI Service Provider

Nothing uses Google's Gemini API to power its AI features. When you use an AI feature, your data is sent to Google for processing. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and the Gemini API Terms of Service.

What Data Is Sent

When you actively use an AI feature, the following data may be sent to Google's Gemini API:

Note text content: The text of the note you are currently working on, for features like beautify, summarize, fix grammar, and AI chat.
Task content: Task titles and descriptions, for features like task analysis and planning.
Images: Photos or images you upload for AI image analysis or conversion to notes.
Chat messages and conversation history: Messages exchanged during AI chat sessions, including prior messages in the current conversation for context.
User prompts: Any custom instructions or questions you type in the AI assistant.

When Data Is Sent

Data is only sent to Google's Gemini API when you actively initiate an AI feature (e.g., tapping an AI action button, sending a message in AI chat, or using AI-powered analysis). No data is sent automatically or in the background.

User Consent

By choosing to use any AI feature within the app, you acknowledge and consent to your data being sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. AI features are entirely optional — if you prefer not to share data with Google's AI service, you can simply choose not to use the AI features, and all other app functionality will remain fully available.

Bring Your Own API Key

Nothing offers an optional "Bring Your Own API Key" mode where you can provide your own Google Gemini API key. In this mode, your data is sent directly to Google's Gemini API using your personal API key, bypassing our server. This mode is subject to your own agreement with Google.

Data Protection

All data transmitted to Google's Gemini API is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. We do not store, log, or retain any of the content you send to the AI service on our servers — your data is forwarded directly to Google's Gemini API for processing and is not kept by us. Google's data retention practices for the Gemini API are governed by their own policies.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including:

The right to access your personal data.
The right to correct inaccurate personal data.
The right to delete your personal data.
The right to restrict or object to processing.
The right to data portability.

Children's Privacy

Nothing is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child under 13, please contact us.
